Recognizing a Critical Step in the Opioid Crisis 

Washington, DC – The National Quality Forum (NQF) released the following public statement today:

NQF applauds the bipartisan leadership necessary to see the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act (H.R. 6) signed into law. This week marks a critical milestone, one in which wide-ranging stakeholders united on a comprehensive effort to address the nation’s opioid crisis and support the millions of Americans and their loved ones affected by this tragic epidemic.

As part of the comprehensive legislation, this Act builds upon NQF’s nationally recognized guidance for opioid stewardship and appropriate prescribing by distinguishing quality as a critical fulcrum in opioid and substance abuse care and treatment.
